To enter a competition you first of all  need to know about it .
Competitions can be anywhere from supermarkets, to the back of railway tickets,  from papers to cinemas,  magazines to beer mats.

One thing to consider when entering postcard competitions is that you cant run around entering every competition you see.  Nowadays most competition entries are entered on Postcards but they will arrive at a "Handling house" and your details will be transferred from the Postcard to the computer.
Once the competition has closed your entry will then be drawn at random by the
computer. Its safer, fairer, and more organised.
So you don't need to use expensive big stand out postcard, but you do need to consider the following…….

Most postcard competitions are whats know as  "One entry per household" which means exactly what it says.
You need to be careful not to enter these comps more than once - if you enter the same comp twice, then the computer will recognise your details and simply disqualify all your entries.

Considering that some competitions have weeks if not months before there closing date, this can get very confusing, so you clearly need a good organised system.
You also need to be able to find hundreds of different competitions, so you increase your chances of winning. Don't forget you will also need to research the answers to many of those competitions as well.

Now you see why a lot of people just don't bother.
